Tedeschi La Fabriseria Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva 2016

Veneto, ItalyLa Fabriseria is a rare Tedeschi label, produced in limited quantities and only during select vintages. Ten vintages have been released since 1983. The grapes used are 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Rondinella, and 5% Oseleta, which are hand selected from the La Fabriseria vineyard located between Fumane and Sant'Ambrogio on the hillsides of Valpolicella Classica. After harvest, the grapes are dried for four months in a humidity controlled environment. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by 48 months of aging in Slavonian oak barrels, and then an additional year in the bottle before release. At 17% alcohol, the wine presents tar, balsamic, black cherries, tobacco, and minerals, with additional complexity from subtle meaty notes. In Valpolicella, it is commonly served with dishes such as game, braised meats, and mature cheeses.Tasted: 17 July 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
