Tedeschi Gary 2023
Veneto, ItalyGary is a blend of 84% garganega, 10% chardonnay, and 6% riesling (Renano). It features a stunning label that reflects the family's modern sensibilities while also honouring the rich history of Valpolicella. The grapes are hand picked and undergo a brief maceration process before aging in the bottle for eight months. It is bottled with a screw cap, which suggests that it will be particularly well received in Canada. At first glance, the blend may seem unconventional, but the Garganega offers a connection to its origins. The wine is characterized by refreshing and vibrant qualities that are hard to resist. On the nose, it presents a delightful blend of florals and yellow fruit, leading to a fresh palate. The flavours of citrus, particularly lemon and lime, along with hints of wet stone make it an excellent choice to pair with seafood, including shellfish, sushi, and sashimi. Gary is a welcome addition to the strong lineup of Tedeschi wines, which now includes both red and white varieties.Tasted: 19 July 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $29.99 | 750ml | select private retailers and restaurants |
