Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella Capitel Monte Olmi 2017

Pedemonte Valpolicella, Verona, Veneto, ItalyMonte Olmi is a 2.5 hectare vineyard in Pedemonte di Valpolicella, at the heart of Valpolicella Classico. Its terraced layout aids drainage, and the clay soil retains moisture. Farmed as a single vineyard since the early 1960s, grapes are dried for 48 months, then bottled and aged for another year. The blend consists of 30% corvina, 30% corvinone, 30% rondinella, and 10% traditional varieties, including molinara, rossignola, oseleta, negrara, dindarella, croatina, and forselina. In the glass, the flavours are intense yet harmonious, with ripe fruit exhibiting refined sweetness. The wine is fresh, subtly bright, textured, and vibrant. It is a wine capable of ageing gracefully for decades or more. First class from the master.Tasted: 16 July 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
