Rebil Cabernet Franc 2021

Similkameen Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Rebil Franc comes off a gently sloping west facing mountainside that enjoys late day sun to give it all the warmth it needs to ripen most years. The winemaking involves whole berry fermentation, extended maceration, and French oak ageing in barriques. It opens with a whiff of wildfire smoke that mixes with the sagebrush and spice. The palate is equally boisterous with black raspberry and plenty of spice and more smoke. A tough year for growers with wildfire smoke in the air, but I’m sure it will have some fans. Best with richer dishes like rosemary rubbed pork, stuffed mushrooms, or grilled beef.Tasted: 30 July 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
