Joel Pizzini explains, "the rare four variety blend mixes cabernet sauvignon, sangiovese, shiraz, and nebbiolo, each selected to add a distinct structural layer rather than dominate the final shape." Its medium weight supports the blend, where the cabernet is the skeleton, the sangiovese brings acidity, the shiraz is all about flesh, and the nebbiolo brings bitterness and complexity, contributing to its long, dry, polished finish. It is a savoury, mostly red fruit affair with sour cherries, cranberries, and earth, but in a baronial, polished package. Like all the Pizzini wines, it is built for the table, where food will heighten its complexity.
