Etna, Sicily, ItalyThis nerello mascalese is grown at 800m on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. After 2 weeks skin maceration, this is pressed off into fine grained oak barrels for 3 months. Perfumed boysenberry, iris, scrubby rosemary and thyme are woven through this buzzy, humming, volcanic red, scented with pink peppercorn, and hugged with finely sticky tannins through a lingering kirsch kissed finish.
