McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaKoomilya was Stephen and Fiona Pannell's first vineyard, purchasing the 35-hectare McLaren Vale property in 2012, and has been organically farmed ever since. This blend of tempranillo and touriga nacional was native cofermented and pressed after 15 days on skins, settled in tank and then moved to French vats for MLF and maturation. Perfumed blackberries, fragrant black plums, and violets course through this concentrated, muscular wine, lofted by an easy ferrous / stony acidity, and wrapped with sticky tannins. The finish lingers with crushed spices and flake salts.
