Frank Cornelissen Munjebel Terre Siciliane Rosso 2021
Etna, Sicily, ItalyThe 20th vintage of the Munjebel Rosso is made from nerello mascalese grown on a series of vineyards bearing 50 year old vines offering classic, traditional fruit with rich antioxidants and perfect ripeness. The ultimate style is the vision of winemaker Frank Corneillson to produce a traditional, balanced and rich Northern Valley Etna red. It is a rich and fragrant red made in the natural style with a fresher, lighter than expected structure but with an earthy, spicy undertow that persists long into the finish. The grapes are destemmed and lightly crushed. The ferment starts in the vineyard with a pied de cuve using only indigenous yeasts, and skin contact for about 50 days.
