Dr. Loosen Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spatlese 2022

Mosel, GermanyThe "spice garden" has long been a prized wine at Loosen, and when it is configured as a spätlese or late harvest, it is indeed special. Typically juicy and electric, its exotic fruit characters enthrall, while the bright acidity and spice complement its late harvest aspects. Richer than a kabinett and coming with more body, the spätlese is said to be the purest expression of the terroir. Weathered, red volcanic soil is unique to the Mosel and is said to be responsible for the spice and exotic character of this wine. I love the pineapple, orange, and melon, as well as the equally effusive lemon acidity. There's no hurry here, so drink or hold.Tasted: 07 July 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
