Corsica, Sud de France, FranceClos Fornelli is a family property of 45 hectares on the eastern coast of Corsica, 18 of which are planted with vines. Owner Josée Vanucci and her husband Fabrice Couloumère organically farm indigenous Corsican varieties, such as this Niellucciu (sangiovese), with a kiss of Minustellu. From deep alluvial soils, this was native fermented in a tank before aging in concrete for up to 1 year. Wild plum, black raspberry, wild blackberry is gripped with fine, thorny tannins, wrapping around an alluringly pure plum core.
