Champagne Valentin Leflaive Σ 20 4.0 Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut NV
Côte des Blancs, Champagne, FranceIf Leflaive sounds familiar, you're certainly correct, as the family has been growing and making wine in nearby Puligny-Montrachet since 1580. Olivier Leflaive began this new project in Champagne, named for his young son Valentin, in 2015. Σ (Sigma, or sum) is the negoce house's only multi-site blend, sourced from Cramant, Chouilly, Villeneuve, Grauves, Oger, Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize on the Côtes des Blancs. Based on 2020, with zero MLF tempered with 15% in barrel (the rest in stainless), and 28% reserve wines added, this was disgorged November 2023 with 4 g/L. Showing beautiful tempered development, with roasted hazelnut, meyer lemon, toasted popcorn and crushed chalk coursing along a sleek, confident frame, with a hum of energy spiralling this long on the finish. Really smart and impressively handled BdB.Tasted: 15 February 2026Tasted by: Prices:

Shining with bright lemon, vanilla wafer, toasted popcorn and flint scenting a snappy yellow plum base, this echoes on the chalky finish. Think of this as modern white Bourgogne with bubbles.Tasted: 21 July 2025Tasted by: Prices:
