Masia de la Roqua Ulivel-la 2022

Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainMasia de la Roqua is in Olivella, a small town in Massís del Garraf, a mountain range between Barcelona and Tarragona. The winery dates back to 1164 and is under winemaker Jot Camps' care. The philosophy is to make wine from grapes indigenous to the region, like this xarel-lo, topped with 2% malvasia de Sitges. It is partial carbonic, partial skin contact, and partially cofermented with the malvasia de Sitges. All was native fermented with no additives. Pouring a deep yellow hue, this mineral-driven white streams elderflower, green apple, grapefruit pith, and meadow grasses down a sleek palate, kissed with stony spice. Very natural and unfiltered expression of grape, which unfortunately turned to mouse after being opened.Tasted: 24 June 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
