Ori Marani Exile on Caucasus 2022

Kakheti, GeorgiaOri Marani is a relatively new natural winery project in Georgia's Kakheti region run by Georgian, Nino Gvantseladze, and her Champenois husband, Bastien Warskotte. This orange wine is entirely Rkatsiteli, sourced from 35 year old naturally grown vines in the top terroirs of Uroebi and Tsarapi, around 450m. This saw 70% destemmed and all into Qvevri for 14 days on skins. After a native ferment, it was pressed and racked to Quevri and old 35OL French barrels for some time. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered with a minimal amount of So2. Pouring a shining light gold hue, this grips the sides with peach fuzz tension, framing the juicy delicate pear blossom, apricot, and subtle honeysuckle within. There's a lovely bergamot twist on the finish, adding intrigue and ample food partnering possibilities. Really lovely detailing. 2500 bottles made.Tasted: 17 May 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
