Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAn Okanagan benchmark for style and enjoyment, the 2023 chardonnay from winemaker Chris Carson has survived the heat of 2023 to give us another Meyer treat that sings Okanagan Falls in a way few others can. It has a somewhat abnormal light gold colour. Still, the wine retains its elegant profile with bright, lemony forepalate and a creamy, leany, citrusy mid-palate supported by a modest 22% new oak. Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis continues to be one of the Okanagan's benchmark chardonnays, with an impressive release from the 2023 vintage. Winemaker Chris Carson has deftly handled the heat of the vintage, retaining elegance, poise, and the distinctly Meyer styling. The fruit is gold-hued but still bright and citrusy, with beautifully handled oak that frames everything together. The palate shows the soft richness of the vintage, but it's still balanced and fresh. Regardless of vintage, McLean Creek Road Vineyard always comes through in the glass.
