Gramona Cellar Batlle Brut Nature 2015
Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainGramona has always been a leader of traditional method sparkling wine in Spain, and was the founder of the collective Alliances per la Terra association in 2015 to unite like-minded biodynamic growers in the area. They were also a founding member of Corpinnat, a movement beyond Cava that puts emphasis on place and time. This Brut Nature of 70% Xarel.lo, 30% Macabeu comes off their Can Romeu Estate, and was disgorged with zero dosage in April 2024 after 98 months on the lees under cork. Highly perfumed upon entry, then leading into toasted brioche, red and green apple, subtle lemon, eraser, and white mushrooms, humming fine and long across the relaxed palate, finishing with a lingering honey kissed, stony buzz. A lovely showing of age, and best consumed shortly after opening. This bottle shipped from the winery in Spain, and price unknown.Tasted: 23 May 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:Blend: Xarel.lo - Macabeu
