Priorato, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainThe winery's flagship wine, this is 60% garnacha and 40% samsó (cariñena) on Priorat's limestone and sandy slate at 200-750m. These organic vines were planted from 1970 - 2000. It was fermented in stainless, and aged 1 year in 225, 500L oak barrels, foudres, and cement tubs. Juicy black plum, violets, thorny wild blackberry, scrubby herbs is framed with firm, slate-laced tannins, structuring the whole through a lingering crushed stone finish. Lovely fine texture throughout, with easy acidity to carry the weight through a cracked pepper finish. A brilliant introduction to Priorat.Tasted: 25 May 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
