Champagne Domaine Méa Le Grillon NV

Montagne de Reims, Champagne, FranceDomaine Méa (formerly Champagne Guy Méa) have owned vines for over a century in the South West of the Montagne de Reims, in the villages of Louvois & Bouzy (Grand Crus) and Valeurs-Mutry (Premier Cru). The 7 hectare estate is now looked after by granddaughter, Sophie, 5th generation vinegrower, and now winemaker, and her husband Franck Moussie. Le Grillon is 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir with 3g/L. After 10 months in vats it is kept for a minimum of 4 years on the lees in bottle, disgorged October 2023. Pouring a deeper yellow hue, but with great freshness still, with burnished lemon, green apple, meringue, along a taut palate, with a fine lees bed to base, and a lingering trail of salinity to finish. Smart and characterful.Tasted: 04 May 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
