Champagne Louis Roederer Brut Rosé 2017

Côte des Blancs, Champagne, France2017 began with an exceptionally warm and dry winter and spring, including a dozen nights of severe frost in April. Next up was a wet and not particularly hot summer, which ended in a tropical, humid August. The rush to pick and avoid the rot was methodical and successful. The La Rivière estate crus of Cumières and Chouilly yielded a 60/40 mix of pinot noir and chardonnay. Some 29% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation, and this was dosed at 8g/L. A rosé colour was achieved through a prolonged, gentle infusion of pinot noir, which extracts colour while preserving its saline freshness. Additionally, some chardonnay juices are added to the pinot noir maceration to ferment together, promoting further integration of the two grapes. Expect a pale Provençal pink colour, with a nose of wild berries, blood orange, and some complexing earthy, cedary, saline notes from underneath.Tasted: 17 September 2025Tasted by: Prices:
