Cedarcreek Platinum Sparkling Chenin Blanc NV

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTasted twice last week, this certified organic sparkler was made with the oldest chenin blanc vines in the valley. The fruit used to be part of the Road 13 program but is now heading up the sparkling wines at CedarCreek. Both wineries are part of the B.C. Iconic Wineries owned by Anthony von Mandl. The 50-year-old vines grown on the Golden Mile Bench south of the town of Oliver have few peers in North America, and the latest reimagned version is a treat to drink. It has the gravitas you would expect from elderly vines but also pitches a level of purity and freshness that grabs your attention. The wine spends 36 months ageing on its lees in a bottle, adding a creamy richness and toast to the mix and a refined mousse. But the flavours grab you, combining honey, pie crust, and fresh-cut red and green apples. The finish is long and distinguished with bright acidity. It is ready to drink but will age through 2028 with ease.Tasted: 17 April 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
