Blasted Church Small Blessings Hell Froze Over 2024

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWhen Mother Nature gave Blasted Church lemons and all but wiped out the 2024 harvest, the winery collectively made lemonade. Everyone from the office, tasting room, winery, and vineyard worked together to salvage what little fruit was left hanging in the vineyard. In the cellar, it was whole cluster pressed, cold settled, and racked into neutral French oak and stainless steel barrels for fermentation and aging. Six months later, they bottled the entire unique experience under one label to remind the team of the challenging year and to serve as a symbol of resilience as the Blasted Church vineyards' return to full production. A minuscule 60 cases were made. Expect a fresh fruit salad affair with a smooth, almost weighty mid-palate and fresh finish. The winery recommends serving it with fish tacos, buttery cheeses, Thai curries, and roasted chicken. The final blend was 47% viognier, 14% blaufränkisch, 11% gewürztraminer, 11% pinot gris, 9% sauvignon blanc, and 8% riesling.Tasted: 21 April 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
