Stoneboat Vineyards Reserve Series Lakes's Edge Red 2022
Black Sage Gravel Bar, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaLake's Edge is a 47 / 32 / 9 / 8 / 4 merlot, cabernet franc, malbec, petit verdot, and syrah blend. The nose is a spicy cedar affair that previews a dry palate with slightly sticky tannins and savoury red and black fruit that reflect its youthful manner. It's aged in French oak for 18 months, of which 23% was new, leaving a vanilla sheen that, with the tannins, should dissipate over the next 2-4 years. It is a solid effort.
