Oenops Limniona 2022
Thessaloniki Area, Makedonia, GreeceOenops was founded in 2015 by winemaker Nikos Karatzas, with a focus on indigenous and rare grape varieties grown on profound terroir. He selects organically grown cool climate sites and old vine plots, from vineyards in Drama and Macedonia. This ancient varietal limniona comes from selected plots, and was native fermented in amphora and open top barrel before blending and aging 10 months in amphora. It was bottled unfined. Alluring scrubby herbs, wild plum, tayberry, and oolong tea are woven through the lofted palate, with finely grippy tannins to frame, and buoyant easy acidity to carry through the spiced finish.
