Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesThe ’24 Hester Creek Rosé is made with cabernet franc sourced from the famed Red Mountain AVA in Washington State. The whole bunches were hand sorted and destemmed at the crusher. It was 24 days on the skins, including a three day cold soak, all of which explains its darkish, pink colour. The nose is a mix of candied cherries and oranges that spill onto the palate, like many of the rosés we see from Washington. It lacks the zip and freshness of BC, but it delivers weightier fruit that many will embrace. It’s a style you can pour at the lunch table with salmon or chicken dishes.
