Feudi di San Gregorio Taurasi 2018

Campania, ItalyFeudi di San Gregorio was established in 1986 in Sorbo Serpico, a tiny village in Campania’s Irpinia region, near Mount Vesuvius. From the outset, the Capaldo and Ercolino families have aimed to share the identity of the Mediterranean through indigenous grapes, made modernly and respectfully. This aglianico comes from 15–20 year old vines up to 500m, in volcanic bedded silty sands, and spent 18 months in French barriques. Dense and compact, with sundried cherries, baked boysenberry, crushed violets on a full palate, hemmed with sticky tannins to a bitter chocolate / espresso finish. Give this giant red ample air time before pouring alongside equally hearty ragu or grilled lamb.Tasted: 03 March 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
