Champagne Devaux Grande Reserve Brut NV
Champagne, FranceThe house of Champagne Devaux was founded in 1846 by brothers Jules and Auguste Devaux, based in the Côte des Bar. This is 70% pinot noir, 30% chardonnay, primarily from Montgueux, with smaller amounts from Vitry, Côte des Blancs. Though the base wines were fermented in stainless, this used 25% reserve wines, stored in oak. After around 3 years sur lattes, this was dosed with 9 g/L. Doughy and expansive, with red apple, lemon, and smoked toast rolling across the creamy palate, tightened with a lemony brace which lingers on the snappy finish. A fuller style, well handled.Tasted: 22 March 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| QC | $56.00 | 750ml | SAQ |
