Domaine Duseigneur Yamakasi 2021

Rhone Valley, FranceYamakasi translates as spirit / strong man, and it's the name that Bernard Duseigneur wanted to name his natural cuvée. This certified organic and biodynamic blend of 60% grenache, 20% syrah, 20% cinsault is from 45 year old vines in the clay and limestone soils of Lirac. Naturally made, this was semi-carbonic for the syrah, with direct pressing of grenache and cinsault, and minimal sulphur used. Lightly spritzy on the hazy palate, this soft red carries crushed raspberry, youthful plum and cherry along the slender palate, with crunchy acidity and negligible tannins hugging the whole to a subtle pink peppercorn finish. A very natural look at the area, as intended, this is best drinking now, with a slight chill and a grill up of sausages.Tasted: 22 February 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
