Unsworth Vineyards Pinot Noir Zanatta Vineyard 2022

Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaThe Unsworth version of Zanatta pinot noir has arrived. The fruit is sourced from a block within the Zanatta Vineyard, which is home to some of the oldest, unknown pinot noir clones in the Cowichan Valley. This is a streamlined version of pinot, with high acidity and prominent cool, woodsy forest floor. The fruit present is a delicate, almost watery selection of dark plums, cranberries, and unripe cherries, although the fruit character is notably muted. The destemmed whole berries are fermented in stainless steel and aged for 15 months in French oak, of which only 15% is new. This is not a wine for the faint of heart, but if you wish to explore all that pinot can offer, you will want to try this, especially with food.Tasted: 27 January 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
