Unsworth Vineyards Pinot Noir Unsworth Vineyard 2022
Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaAn 1126 degree day growing season yielded little colour to the inaugural Unsworth Vineyard Pinot Noir release, showing a pale, pale red colour. There is no need to fret about the wine. It sits in your mouth with much more texture than it looks like it can deliver. The red fruit is pleasantly ripe, balancing the island's savoury, earthy notes that give this pinot such an authentic signature. The destemmed berries are fermented in stainless steel before spending 16 months in 15% new French oak. The clonal mix is 777 and 115, planted to 2000 acres on a vineyard of marine sediments that sit 80m above sea level, oriented to the southwest.Tasted: 27 January 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $74.90 | 750ml | winery direct/online |
