Unsworth Vineyards Pinot Gris Unsworth Vineyard 2023
Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaAs the Unsworth vineyard sites mature, they have released some vineyard designate wines such as this Unsworth Vineyard Pinot Gris. This 2023 has that electricity the island is famous for, which lights up a palate of fresh, taut minerals, citrus, and green apple with a spray of salinity that takes me to Friuli and Alto Adige in Northern Italy. Seafood, anyone? The fermentation was a 90/10 mix of stainless steel and neutral French oak. It’s aged for four months in stainless steel on fine lees.
