Testalonga Baby Bandito Follow Your Dreams 2023
Swartland, Coastal Region, South AfricaFrom the Swartland's decomposed granite soils, this was a single bush vine plot of carignan at Bandit's Kloof, planted in 2001 at 220m, and farmed organically. As is Craig's way, this was entirely whole bunch with stems, crushed, and native fermented before going into old foudre and 500L barrels where it remained until bottling without fining and minimal SO2. One of the most graceful carignan you'll find, with perfumed mulberry, herbal raspberry, and wild cherry stretched long on the slender palate. Tannins are finely textural, guiding this to a stony finish.
