Quails' Gate Old Vines Foch 2022
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaQuails' Gate's Old Vines Foch has a long production record back to 1978 and is a cult wine among many Quails' Gate fans. The style turned last year, shifting to a fresher version over the past's meaty, wet dog affairs. There's plenty of American oak here, and 16 months worth. On the palate, the fresh, juicy entry and bright acidity mix with coffee and black plums that fade into a soft finish. Still a wine that needs the richest menu to show its best. I like it with grilled lamb, roast pork or venison, or with mature cheese.Tasted: 27 January 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $28.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
