Laughing Stock Vineyards Portfolio +07/10 2021

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe 2021 vintage, the 19th blend of Portfolio, is a multi-grape mix of 50% merlot, 29% cabernet sauvignon, 12% cabernet franc, 5% malbec, and 4% petit verdot. These grapes are sourced from various locations in Oliver, as well as from the Perfect Hedge Vineyard in Osoyoos. The heat dome year presented numerous challenges for the vines and growers, including drought, wildfire smoke, and low yields. However, Portfolio managed to avoid the worst consequences. The wine undergoes whole berry fermentation in stainless steel tanks and is aged for 21 months in French oak barrels, 38% of which are new, and 62% are second fill. Expect to find warm black cherry, cedar, and cocoa powder aromas. The wine is similar on the palate with a moderately long, warm finish. It is not as intense as its price might suggest. It will be ready to drink in 2025.Tasted: 27 January 2025Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
