Code Wines Estate Blend Pinot Noir 2022

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis new-ish Okanagan winery is the vision of Shay and Harlee Code, the farmers and owners of this organic 5 acre Okanagan Falls east bench estate. The 2022 Pinot Noir Estate Blend uses Dijon clones 115 and 777, along with Pommard 91, and an unknown clone (named Ancestor 01), thought to be Germanic in origin. The destemmed fruit was fermented in open top fermenters and then aged in Franch oak (10% new) for 8 months. It was bottled unfiltered. Soft dusky plum, black cherry is kissed with subtly smoked stone and autumnal forest, across a velvety frame. There's a nice stream of acidity to lift through a gentle, brown spiced finish. A gentle, darker shaded pinot, drinking now.Tasted: 14 January 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
