Champagne Charles Mignon Le Noyer Cornail Extra Brut 2020
Vallée de la Marne, Champagne, FranceChampagne Charles Mignon is a 6th generation grower based in Epernay and has worked towards organic certification these past years. The family became a NM (negoce) in the 1990s as they had to begin purchasing fruit to maintain and grow the business. Guillaume is the current generation working on the estate. This pinot meunier comes from Festigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, planted by his grandparents in 1974. Fermented in stainless, with full MLF, this spent 36 months sur lattes and was disgorged with 4.5 g/L in mid 2024. Very purple fruited, with crushed plums, peonies, and fine spice (five spice and cinnamon bark), with a lovely grapefruit pith to shape. Really fine and pretty and lifted, trailing with a red liquorice note. Quite an elegant PM. 3495 bottles produced.Tasted: 23 January 2025Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:| BC | $132.00 | 750ml | private wine stores |
