La Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza Rioja Reserva 2017

Rioja, SpainThis blend of 80% tempranillo, 20% garnacha comes from vines up to 30 years old, and a mix of clay/limestone and deep pebbles. After ferment, this was aged in American oak (20% new) from 30-36 months. Quite classic and traditional, with leather, dried cherry, dried florals, and tobacco woven throughout this fuller red. Tannins are sticky yet supportive, hugging this through a warming baking spiced finish. Drinking now, ideally with roast beef and root veg.Tasted: 06 December 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
