Champagne Collet Esprit de Couture Brut 2015

Champagne, FranceEsprit Couture is a hommage to tradition, produced entirely by hand. Only the best crus make it to the blend of 50/40/10 pinot noir, chardonnay, and pinot meunier that, after fermentation in oak, is aged 5 to 7 years in the heart of Collet's limestone centuries old cellars. The Couture moniker begins with a stylishly striking ridged bottle that is hard to resist on looks alone. Inside, the tiny persistent bubbles are all style, lifting this elegant expression of terroir from the glass to your palate. Subtle fruity notes introduce you to nectarine skin, yellow plums, and brioche. The entry is silky and persistent throughout the finish. The rich, spicy undercarriage of toasted almonds, saline, and tree fruits display what is mature, ready to drink champagne. Collet restored its production facilities in 2004 at Oger and considerably expanded all of that in 2011. Today, the site has a storage capacity of 27 million bottles and the most modern equipment, placing it at the level of some of Champagne’s largest and most famous producers.Tasted: 04 December 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
