Champagne Collet Esprit Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru NV
Champagne, FranceWhite from Black (grapes) describes this The Blanc de Noirs Premier Cru of pinot noir (85%) and pinot meunier (15%) from 10 villages. It is a 50/50 split of Grand Cru and Premier Cru fruit. The nose leads with vibrant apples, nectarines, and clementines, along with streaks of red fruits. The Collet sheen of creamy, tiny bubbles inflates its crunchy green apple, citrus, and saline minerality. This is a solid bubble well suited to appetizers like smoked salmon, cream cheese and caviar, or freshly shucked West Coast oysters. This is aged in the cellar for 36 months. Champagne Collet was among the first cooperatives to open after World War I, founded in Aÿ by 20 growers, including a Collet family member, Raoul Collet. Today, the 850 member co-op is a well regarded purveyor of bubbles, albeit a tiny one at only one million bottles annually in a sea of 300 million bottles across the AOC. The best Grand Cru and Premier Cru rated grapes go into the Collet labels. The average age of the vines is 25 years. They are planted to a density of 8000 vines/ha, yielding 66 hl/ha.Tasted: 05 December 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:CDN | $99.00 | 750ml | average market price in USA |
