Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, Central Coast, California, United StatesTapestry Red is a Paso Robles 72/16/12 blend of cabernet sauvignon, shiraz, and petite sirah made with fruit from select vineyards on both the warm eastern (inland) half, and the cooler western (coastal) half of the Paso Robles AVA. Rich, ripe, and round, plenty of sweet fruit is here, led by blueberry and blackberry with some desert scrub notes of dried herbs. It is a giant red wine made with care, and, in the end, it is well balanced, playing its drier tannins against the sweet fruit and a surprisingly fresh finish.
