Seven Stars Rigel Fool's Gold Vineyard 2022

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Seven Stars series uses the traditional method, where the second fermentation occurs in the bottle. Rigel takes its name from the 7th brightest and one of the youngest stars in the night sky. This riesling (clone 21B) is grown at Fool's Gold Vineyard near Oliver. The nose is a floral affair with lime blossoms and a touch of stony, flinty notes mixed with croissant. The attack is more lemon, with a strong citrus finish that is round and lively, with more stony mineral notes that electrify the middle palate. This is a perfect wine for West Coast oysters and is long, flavourful, and complex. The quality of the wine is high, joining only a handful of top flight sparkling riesling in the province.Tasted: 15 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
