Willamette Valley, Oregon, United StatesThe Résonance Willamette Valley Chardonnay is blend of sites that include estate fruit from Résonance and Découvert, and properties tended by like minded souls outside the home boundaries. Expect a golden colour, perhaps slightly darker than you are used to, that precedes a nose of floral blossoms led by lemon and oranges with a fresh hazelnut lees underside. The palate opens with fresh citrus and nuts, bright with minerality and excellent tension. Fresh and sophisticated, it slides down with ease and would be heavenly with a mushroom stuffed roast chicken. It is aged 15 months in 20% new French oak barrels, stainless steel tank, and concrete egg.
