Red Barn at Jagged Rock Lost Art Sémillon 2021
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaI remember tasting Mission Hill wines in the red barn way back when. It was a welcomed escape from the 35-40 C noon day sun beating down on what is known today as Jagged Rock Vineyard. I also remember how fresh those wines presented, suggesting the Black Sage Bench wasn’t just a place to grow red grapes. Today, the Red Barn at Jagged Rock project, owned by Anthony von Mandl, is a full blown winery producing an eclectic selection of labels. This is my second look at the sémillon, which lives up to the impressive first year release. It's fermented in concrete, giving it the perfect richness in the mouth to match its grapefruit, grassy, orange notes with a spray of saltwater in the finish. Try this with creamy seafood pasta.Tasted: 07 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:BC | $32.00 | 750ml | winery online/direct, select private retailers |
