Nk'Mip Cellars Qwam Qwmt Chardonnay 2021

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaWinemaker Justin Hall is an enthusiastic ambassador of the Osoyoos Indian Band and the chief winemaker at Nk'Mip. His flagship chardonnay will surprise many with its freshness, given how far south the vines are in the warm Okanagan Valley, but it is the real thing. The nose and palate are a mix of bright peach, pineapple, apple pie, and honey with a tighter, mineral underside and a mealy, leesy creamy palate that adds some complexity to what I like to term a Next World chardonnay. Its creamy, leesy mid-palate is the perfect foil for its ripe finish. The grapes were fermented in stainless steel, and 40% of the vintage was aged in French oak barrels for 10 months, while 60% remained in stainless steel.Tasted: 14 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
