Mission Hill Terroir Collection Border Vista Vineyard Cabernet Franc 2021

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBorder Vista Vineyard sits on the "border" between the United States and Canada just south of Osoyoos. The west facing slopes catch the late day sun, making ripening an easy prospect. The trick is not to over ripen the grapes. 2021 presented many challenges for many growers, but it seems this site was spared, judging by this wine's quality, texture, and styling. Wow. This red wine is refined with beautiful balance and an electric underscore that pulls you into a wine of rich flavours and multiple layers. Look for attractive, savoury black cherry with an elegance few wines in Canada can project. Given its balance, this wine will age effortlessly, and will be a benchmark for BC franc. It is fermented in small concrete fermenters (clearly the difference between most of the competition) and aged in French oak barriques (23% new) for 15 months. Oh, and did I mention the "vista" view is spectacular?Tasted: 03 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
