Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis is gewürztraminer through and through, expressed in a lighter, more delicate style that's true to Okanagan Falls. It's crisp and bright, with perfumed orchard blossoms, lychee, and orange. 24 hours of skin contact has helped to heighten the aromatics, while also giving some phenolic texture that elevates this above your typical patio sipper. Good value.Tasted: 25 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA distinctive, varietally correct gewürztraminer packed with rose water, lychee, white peach, orange peel, and a sprinkle of ginger spice. The fruit is well defined and refreshing, steering clear of the flabby or blowsy tendencies of the variety. Subtle phenolics on the finish are balanced by a hint of sweetness (6 g/L), making it an ideal pairing for spicy Asian dishes. A textbook example for gewürz fans and wine students alike, and a steal at this price.Tasted: 26 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom the McLean Creek Vineyard estate, this Gewürztraminer, planted in 1994, is approaching 30 years of age. It undergoes a partial wild fermentation and often involves multiple picking dates to achieve the right balance of sugar and acidity. The late harvest receives an additional 24 hours of skin contact to enhance the wine's complexity. Aromatically, it is bright, featuring honeysuckle, ginger, lychee, and ripe pear. It is dangerously easy to drink. Although it has an exotic and sweet aroma, it finishes with just 6 grams of sugar per litre, making the sweetness barely noticeable. This wine pairs perfectly with hot chicken wings, and I appreciate its great price.Tasted: 01 November 2024Tasted by: Prices:
