Meyer Gewürztraminer McLean Creek Road 2023
Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom the McLean Creek Vineyard estate, this Gewürztraminer, planted in 1994, is approaching 30 years of age. It undergoes a partial wild fermentation and often involves multiple picking dates to achieve the right balance of sugar and acidity. The late harvest receives an additional 24 hours of skin contact to enhance the wine's complexity. Aromatically, it is bright, featuring honeysuckle, ginger, lychee, and ripe pear. It is dangerously easy to drink. Although it has an exotic and sweet aroma, it finishes with just 6 grams of sugar per litre, making the sweetness barely noticeable. This wine pairs perfectly with hot chicken wings, and I appreciate its great price.Tasted: 01 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $19.11 | 750ml | winery direct |
