Laberinto Cenizas Pinot Noir 2022

Colbún, Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileLaberinto is an intriguing pinot noir from the Maule region of Chile. It opens with a pale red/orange colour, but once on the palate, it presents in a more full-flavoured way. The fruit is pure red and savoury—a cool, stony, mineral undercurrent with some herby notes. Silky, complex, and unique, it tells a terroir story different from many other New World pinots. Technically, the fruit comes off a three-hectare block of volcanic soils on the edge of the Andes foothills. A third of the fruit is fermented whole-cluster; all is fermented in concrete before spending only eight months in used 400-litre barrels. It is a little Euro, a little Oregon, and mostly Chilean.Tasted: 02 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
