Laberinto Arcillas Riesling 2022

ColbĂșn, Valle del Maule, Region del Valle Central, ChileThis Maule riesling, a recipient of high accolades from the renowned wine critic Tim Atkin, offers a unique taste profile. It presents a straw yellow colour and an austere nose of citrus, minerals, and quince, with a subtle fruit presence. While more intense, the flavours are rudimentary, reminiscent of tightly wound green apple and sour lemon, with a pronounced mineral finish. This is a wine for aficionados, more than the casual riesling drinker. The wine's distinct character results from its unique taste profile and production process: 80% of the wine undergoes 6 hours of skin contact, while the remaining 20% experiences 5 days of skin contact. It is then aged 8 months on lees in amphorae and concrete tanks. This riesling hails from a 0.7 hectare block that faces south, a cool orientation on that side of the world, with soils of volcanic origin.Tasted: 02 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
