Hester Creek Joe's Block 2022
Golden Mile Bench, Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaJoe’s Block was planted in Block 13 by Joe Busnardo in 1968. It is an Italian clone of merlot that has seemingly adapted well to the Golden Mile Bench. The bunches were hand sorted into Ganimede fermentation tanks, cold soaked for two days before a 21 day extended maceration. The final juice was pressed into French oak barrels and aged for 18 months before blending. The unknown clone is reflected in the wine that mixes plums, blueberries, sage, and black olives in a refreshing red and blue fruit palate that, at 13.8% alcohol, dances in the mouth.
