Henri Bourgeois Sancerre Les Baronnes 2023
Sancerre, Upper Loire, Loire, FranceLes Baronnes is a solid Sancerre whose vines are grown over a 65/35 mix of clay and limestone on the hills between Chavignol and Sancerre. The former is responsible for the flesh and mouthfeel in the glass, while the latter brings the backbone and electricity. On the nose, the aromatics are a mix of lemongrass and gooseberries with well balanced freshness. The winemaking is simple and classic, with a gentle pressing soon after the harvest and a cool stainless steel fermentation followed by a five month rest on lees before bottling. Westcoast shellfish is a fine match.Tasted: 04 November 2024Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:BC | $44.99 | 750ml | BCLS |
