Double Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Horse Heaven Hills, Columbia Valley, Washington, United StatesThe winery's flagship cabernet sauvignon (with tips of petit verdot, malbec, and syrah) comes from Washington State's Horse Heaven Hills, lauded for its full red wines. It was aged in primarily French oak, with a small portion of American wood (35% new overall), seeing 20 months' ageing post-ferment. Smouldering black fruit, grilled meat and green onions, and dark earth floods a juicy, ripe core, plumped with sunshine, and hemmed in with cab's inherent structure through a warming and bitter espresso finish. At 14+%, this certainly benefits from partnering with hearty stews or ribs.Tasted: 18 November 2024Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
